About Phuket

Formerly known as Thalang, Phuket is the biggest island in Thailand. It was said that the word Phuket originates from a Malay word of "Bukit" which means hill. Particularly because of its geographically mountainous land. 

Other than rubber trees plantations, Phuket was the source of tin mining since the 16th century. And today, Phuket has evolved itself to specialise into the area of tourism, offering relaxing beaches and happening night go go bars that lure billion of tourists from all over the world. 

What am I about to share, is purely on my experience around Phuket Town. And it was not a backpacking experience as I was happened to be sponsored by my department for an important conference. Well, it is a work life balance - full focus on the conference for the whole day, and soul searching at night. Hahahah.
